As operações básicas da matemática e a educação do campo: uma experiência no interior da Paraiba

This research took place at the Municipal School located in the city of Mari, Paraíba, in the period September-November 2014, which aimed to analyze how the students of the 5th year of elementary school, a field school, solve problems mathematics, involving the discussion of the basic operations, from differentiated strategies in the school environment. The theoretical framework was based on the researchers: Toledo and Toledo (1995), Joseph (2005), Kamii (2005), among other authors. We also use the official documents: CPN (BRAZIL, 1997), and LDB (BRAZIL, 1996). Elected as a research methodology an exploratory study, according to the study objectives, study type simple case, using as main research instruments the semi- structured questionnaire, interviews and activities in the classroom. We also used the interviews with the teacher's room and the school board, the intuited to identify aspects related to the daily life of the school. The survey was conducted with 29 students, and attended three classes using concrete materials, always the class with a fixation activity was completed. On the last day of the investigation we applied a survey of activity in an attempt to identify the conceptions of the students at the end of the study. At the end of the study concluded that the use of concrete materials facilitated the understanding of students on the basics of mathematics, as well as improve attention control and humanize this science. We also realize that, despite the short time we spent with the class, many students who had initially difficulty with basic operations, at the end, and responded to methodological teaching proposal, adopted by the researchers to providing a differentiated methodological discussion.
