EFEITOS DA VOCALIZAÇÃO DE GLAUCIDIUM BRASILIANUM (STRIGIFORMES) SOBRE COMUNIDADES DE AVES NA CAATINGA DURANTE O PERÍODO REPRODUTIVO E NÃO-REPRODUTIVO

The mobbing is a set of antipredations behaviors, highly diffused among birds. The primary function is to scare away a potential predator, generating individual and collective protection. In this sense, the behavior can be played more frequently in reproductive periods. Neotropical environments, one of the largest being of mobbing is the predator Ferruginous Pygmy-owl however there are still many gaps on basic aspects of this behavioral set. Thus, this work aims to describe the species composition of birds in Caatinga area that performs the mobbing behavior in response to vocalization of Ferruginous Pygmy-owl, as well as to assess whether the. A total of 117 points were executed vocalizaão playback of Ferruginous Pygmy-owl in Caatinga area during reproductive periods and non-reproductive. All the answers were recorded.re are differences in this composition between reproductive and non-reproductive periods. A total of 51 species played that kind of behavior, the most common were behaviors (AP) passive alert; (AF) physical attack; (PE) persecution; (VA) High and/or agonistic vocalizations; (MR) repetitive movements; (EC) Proliferation of the Ridge; (AB) Opening of the nozzle. Answer of the tests performed, there was no difference in species richness performers of mobbing in the reproductive period and subtly in the response, this is due to the fact that species are more propicías to protect yourself, protect your offspring, nest, partner and group during the reproductive period.
