In order to analyze the main features that accompany a good professional in education, especially in Rural Education. For this, we have adopted as a theoretical basis some scholars, such as Freire (1997); Gadotti (2003); Ahmed (2000); Arroyo (2007); Chalita (2004) and official documents: PCN (BRAZIL, 1997). As the methodological procedures, this work is characterized by being an exploratory study on the objectives and the type case study, as the data acquisition and analysis. To collect data we use as research tools: A semistructured interview and a field diary. The survey had a single subject - a teacher - who works at the participating institution, with a group of 1st year of elementary school. Elected some categories of analysis that we believe are essential and relevant to exercise the teaching profession: content domain, responsibility, diligence, commitment and self-assessment. At the end of the study we found that the investigated teacher has all the essences and relevant for exercising the teaching profession, showing always open to new, struggling with gang control, and respects the principle of equity. We conclude that to become teachers with good teaching performance, we need to have the interest to invest in our professional career, respecting our student acting ethically, taking seriously the commitment that the pedagogical practice needs, so, just so, we become good professionals in Education.","abstract_html":"This work was developed from a survey in a public school in the city of João Pessoa, Paraíba, during the months from October to December 2014.
