Transformational leadership considered the leader as one of the main agents of moral development and motivation in the organizational context, being responsible for the development of their subordinates. Linked to this, organizations are increasingly seeking, management models capable of maximizing the results and promote practices that facilitate the leadership exercise process, being the Model of Excellence in Management (MEG) one of the most widely used. The aim of the research is to examine how the process of transformational leadership in organizations of the city of João Pessoa that have joined the deployment of MEG. The approach adopted is the qualitative research, the data was collected by semi-structured interviews with two organizations of the city of João Pessoa, achieved a total of eight respondents. After, was performed a content analysis which allowed the identification of traces of lead in both companies and the perception of the current stage of maturity of the MEG. The results found that the companies are in different stages of implementation of the model and the maturity of management occurs in accordance with the management practices developed in each organization. According to the reports of the managers interviewed, the MEG was considered a facilitator in leadership exercise process and demonstrated that the phenomenon of leadership occurs in a different way according to the organizational culture.","abstract_html":"Leadership is the subject of many studies regard to organizations, being perceived through different approaches.
