Interesse pela leitura através do olhar dos alunos da Escola Municipal Monsenhor João Coutinho da cidade de João Pessoa - PB

A study carried out in order to meet the interest in reading with students of the School Monsignor John Coutinho in the city of João Pessoa - PB. The survey figure is as bibliographic and descriptive. They used quantitative and qualitative approaches to data analysis, and the questionnaire the survey instrument. It was found great need in the library without the presence of the school librarian, being vital for dealing with mediation between the library and the classroom with teachers in the development of activities that promote and encourage reading. We conclude that even with so many adversities students know the importance of reading, as well as the library can contribute to its development in the formation of readers. However effective incentive reading activities methods should be more intensified in schools, to arouse increasing children's interest for literature, as they are so fond of reading.
