AVALIAÇÃO DA ANALGESIA TRANS E PÓS-OPERATÓRIA DA NALBUFINA EPIDURAL EM GATAS

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The use of opioids to pain control by epidural rout has been a great alternative because minimum doses can cause low side effects, good and long term analgesia. It was aimed to evaluate the analgesia effectiveness of nalbuphine by epidural rote on transoperative and its length on the postoperative period, in eleven healthy domestic female cats submitted to Ovariosalpingohisterectomy procedure. Heart rate (FC), respiratory rate (FR), capillary reffiling time (TPC), systolic blood pressure (PAS), rectal temperature (TR) and blood glucose was gauged at basal rate (M0), fifteen minutes after preanesthesic medication (M1), fifteen minutes after induction (M2), fifteen minutes after epidural (M3), in the second ovarian pedicle ligature (M4), starting of the muscle suture (M5), starting of the skin suture (M6) and after extubation (M7). Besides the measured parameters in MB there were aimed hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SPO2), expired carbon dioxide (ETCO2) and expired concentration of isoflurane (ETISO) on transoperative periods. For the evaluation on postoperative period we used the multidimensional scale from UNESP-Botucatu to measure the postoperative acute pain in feline. The obtained data were analysed by ANOVA followed by the time comparison using the Tukey test. It was observed low interference on cardiorespiratory systems and glycemia with hypothermia. Epidural rote of nalbuphine has promoted good transoperative analgesia with decrease on analgesic requirement, good muscle relaxation, long term postoperative analgesia (mean 300 min.) without loss of movement and side effects, making it a safe analgesic to be used on cats.
