This study aims to assess the factors that can influence the cash balance of the General Regime of Social security of Brazil in the annual period from 2003 to 2014. The methodology discussed in this present study is a descriptive, quantitative and qualitative, and the data used for this research were taken from the website of the Institute for Applied Economic Research, Ministry of Social Welfare and the Brazilian Institute of Geografaria and Statistics, where if you used the linear regression model, and to estimate the parameters of the model, it was used the Method of ols. The literature review presented grants theory to the analysis of the results obtained. Soon, if you examined the trajectory of the variables studied, and upon verification of statistical significance it was observed that, when estimating the model, the minimum wage, National Index of Consumer Prices, Selic rate, dependency ratio of the elderly, informal employment, and income the usual, have had significant results, thus confirming that these variables influence the cash balance of the General Regime of Social security.
