Estudo sobre a transparência pública sob a ótica dos discentes de uma escola municipal

Public transparency became a relevant tool in order to help the population accompany data regarding expenses of public administration. It is a way for people to have indirectly access to the public administration. There are some legal normatives that can be used as great drivers regarding public transparency in Brazil, such as the Law of Inspectorial Responsibility (Lei de Responsabilidade Fiscal – LRF) which establishes that actions realized by the inspectorial management are transparent and enough to prevent risks and not affect the balance of the bills from the public administration. Still, there is the Law of Access to Information (Lei de Acesso à Informação – LAI), which aims to provide access for public information to all people.Once transparency became such an actual and relevant theme for society, it is important that monitoring and levy of the political representantives that speaks for the population. In view of this, the present work has the goal of verifying the knowledge of the students from an elementary school (Terlópedes Cruz, Tacima-PB) about public transparency. It is a descriptive study. In order to achieve the goal for this research, a quiz was applied for students from all three shifts of the eighth and ninth grades. From the universe of 152 students that had proven registration, 116 effectively participated on the research. From the data analysis, came the conclusion that the analyzed classes holds basic knowledge on the subject studied (public transparency), specially because of the scholar curriculum that, in some moment, discuss about the theme. However, it was noted that the students from the eighth grade (morning shift) is the one that holds more notion and knowledge on the subject.
