It describes from the beginnings after the discovery of the writing the importance of the preservation and conservation of bibliographical and documentary materials in the world and in the country, promoting the awareness of a preventive conservation, showing its relevance both to the knowledge of the history of civilizations and to the present day, and with that see reflected in the past and can build their identity in the future. This is an exploratory research of a descriptive nature, with a quantitative-qualitative approach, which used as a data collection instrument a questionnaire applied to LABCOR monitors.
