Through a historical and biographical approach it shows work these women educators in Brazil. In a period that the woman was restricted to the affairs of the home, the Protestantism encouraged them insert schooling and professionalization through teaching. The research uses the biography as a guiding theoretical reference. The Protestant Reformation is presented as also educational reform.
