A cultura indígena aos olhos da literatura cinzenta disponível na BDTD: uma análise de teses e doutorado

ust as the indigenous peoples represent a small part of the total Brazilian population, the gray literature also occupies a small niche in relation to the total scientific production of the country. This is an exploratory and descriptive research that aims to analyze the scientific production generated in theses with the indigenous theme, in the years 2015 and 2016, available at the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). Focused on a quanti-qualitative approach, the survey covered 138 theses available on the Internet through BDTD. The results obtained in the research indicate that the authors of the theses are, in most cases, doctors in the areas of Social Anthropology, History and Social Sciences. Regarding the geographic location, the theses researched come from the five regions of Brazil including the Federal District, most of them located in the Southeast region. The higher the amount of postgraduate (doctoral level) in the region, the greater the possibility of having among them a thesis related to the indigenous theme. The themes focused on the theses are related to ten major areas: language / linguistics, politics / law, health, environmental, territoriality, social, education, religiosity, culture and ethnic aspects. It is concluded that there is a strong tendency that the production and distribution of theses in the BDTD with the indigenous theme will increase, not because of the increase in the indigenous population, but because the new graduate programs are adhering to the participation in the BDTD.
