BRAPCI: o panorama da conservação, preservação e restauração de documentos no Brasil

The aim of this work is to analyze the presence of scientific production in the thematics of conservation, preservation and restoration of documents, and to analyze the lack of literature of this theme in the Information Science area in Brazil, from bibliometrics and scientometrics. It uses the Referential Database of Articles and Journals in Information Sciences (Brapci) as a source of empirical data about the scientific production limited to that theme. Noticing the attendance that the issue has been dealt with in the articles, the most incidents authors, the amount of co-authorship, the most productive years, and the index of the terms described in the keywords of the articles, according to the the platform of Brapci. The data was organized and processed using the Excel software to make the graphics and the tables according to the laws of Bradford, Lotka and Zipf. The study counted 54 articles written by 95 different authors, who contemplated the issue between the years of 1995 and 2015. It also identifies the predominance of collective authorship of the works and observes the variation in the number of articles published on the subject in the last 20 years. It is noteworthy, therefore, that the scientific literature on the mentioned topics are insufficient in order to meet the demand of information, since the technical experts who work in these areas need scientific support to deal with the procedure to preserve documents.
