Abstract
dc:description.abstractBrazil has great natural wealth with technological and economic potential, Brazil has contributed in almost all international agreements many of them environmental. Apparent way, the country has advantages in its energy matrix when compared to other countries, mainly due to the large share of renewable sources 39.4% and the use of hydroelectricity 11.5%, and other clean sources. The purpose of this work focuses on the energy profile of Brazil from its composition of supply and consumption patterns, analyzing national energy balances in the 2000-2014 period using qualitative descriptive approach. It is of great importance planning an efficient and sustainable blueprint for the country. Sustainable development is a great arrangement that unites all involved in the economy, from industrial to subsistence farmer. Brazil is the fourth country in the world, behind China, India and the United States the world ranking of energy and socioeconomics. It has a balanced matrix and about 60.6% are non-renewable resources, especially the oil and oil products that make up much of this offer. The industry and the transport sector with 17% each are the sectors that demand for energy in the country.
