Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis study analyzed the empathic profile of undergraduate students of Full Degree in Education from the Federal University of Paraiba, Campus I, aimed to assess the importance of empathy in the process of formation of students of education, thus we reflect on the importance of Emotional Education in the process of formation of the student of education, as well as the influence of empathy in this formation. The understanding of the object of study was based on a theoretical approach anchored by Rolando Toro, Elisa Gonsalves, Paulo Freire, Waal Frans, Delors and António Damásio, fieldwork was carried out by applying a closed inventory, the methodology of the research was quantitative and qualitative, initially the inventory of Emotional Education Gonsalves was applied to fifty students of the course of Education, being twenty and five students of the first semester of the course, and twenty-five seniors of the same course, then the data was analyzed in a quantitative way through the Epi info tool, in the second time we used the qualitative methodology to refine the information brought to light in the first stage. The results demonstrated the need to invest in Emotional Education in the formation of the pedagogue, as it presented a greater difficulty for the students of the last semester to access empathy in certain situations with comparison to students in the first semester.
