Fabulosas aventuras e desventuras: relato da reestruturação a Biblioteca do Centro Cultural Piollin (2011-2014)

Culture, much more than just enjoyment, has the function of linking education to the development of citizenship. This paper aims to report the reorganization experience of “Biblioteca do Centro Cultural Piollin” between the years 2011 and 2014. Using the evidential method for research purposes, the history behind “Centro Cultural Piollin” and its main educational and cultural activities are introduced. It comprises the concept of Libraries as ‘culture centers’ and Culture Centers. The Library from “Centro Cultural Piollin” according to Library Science encompasses the definitions of school library, community library, mixed library, finally reaching the concept of hybrid library. In summary it presents the cultural actions and projects developed by the library from 2011 to 2014.
