Uma breve discussão sobre Celso Furtado: entre o pensamento e a ação

This monograph is a study on the life and work of Paraiba economist Celso Furtado, especially on the Report “A development policy for the Northeast”. For clarity and understanding about the subject made a historical recovery of his life , from his birth , through his whole political life academic , and public office , and its importance to the Brazilian economy and especially the economy of the northeast. It can be stated that Celso Furtado stood Brazil in the world context, analyzing its political society and offering solutions to the major problems faced, and provide economic explanations for development and underdevelopment, contributing decisively to the understanding of economic and political formation Brazilian. Always fought for the development of Brazil and by overcoming the backwardness of the Northeast, working with intensity and determination. This study is characterized as a literature search. During the work done reflections on disparities, according to the vision of Celso Furtado, between the Northeast and the Center -South region as well as its political importance on the national scene with the intention of reducing or eliminating economic inequalities between regions.
