This study had as main goal to analyze the teaching practice of the Accounting Sciences course of the Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) in the perception of graduate students and professors. For this, interviews were conducted with professors working in the Finance and Accounting Departments as well as with graduates of the course, currently postgraduate students in Accounting Sciences at UFPB. Among the 15 teachers interviewed, the major group has age over 50 years; among the seven students, most are up to 30 years old. The teachers described some of the personal characteristics that influence the students' academic lives: \"encouraging\", \"experienced\" and others. Most teachers believe they influence the choices made by the students, especially with their dedication and work. The students added that they feel a lack in the course in relation to the practical part and most said they considered that the course alone - without external experiences - does not prepare the student for the job market. Given the results achieved, it was possible to conclude that teachers, in most cases, influence or mark the lives of their students, either positively or negatively, and that teaching practices are the key point of this question.","abstract_html":"Teaching practices and accounting teaching in universities have been the subject of research, seeking to understand how bachelors in Accounting Sciences deal with teaching, taking into account the perception of post-graduate students and teachers.
