Uma análise de prevenção do câncer de mama no Brasil: evidências de acordo com o suplemento de saúde da PNAD 2008

This research aims to study the interrelationships between the prevention of breast cancer and the factors, socioeconomic, demographic, behavioral, regional and of health in determining the temporal frequency of the search for prevention by performing mammograms and breast exams in Brazil. From the information of the suplemento de saúde da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios of 2008 a sample that includes only women over age 40 was built. For meeting the proposed goal, makes use of the estimation of the ordered logit model of partial proportional odds, that indicated as main results, the following: i) better socioeconomic status, living in the more developed regions of the country, composition of a family that includes children, present a good self-assessment of their health and have been diagnosed with some type of cancer, drawing woman's profile that best prevents against breast cancer, both in relation to the demand for mammography, as compared to a greater demand for breast exam performed by a doctor or nurse and; ii) the results also point to the fact that most of the interviewees made the tests in question for at least one year, or never undergone such procedures. So, are recommended policies aimed at implementing actions to promote women's health through the prevention of breast cancer.
