Logística de cabotagem: alternativa e distribuição para o Brasil

The Brazil offers a wide coastline in which concentrates its nearby coastal economic activities and conditions extremely favorable to the development of water transport. However, this potential has not been effectively and efficiently utilised by the cargo segment, which is still characterized by a ragged array, especially as regards the use of cabotage and navigation held between ports or points of the national territory, using the sea or this and inland waterways. This study aims to describe the distribution of cabotage as possible alternative Brazilian logistics, its benefits and limitations. Had the study methodology descriptive and bibliographical study based on authors in the area of logistics and cabotage transport operations. According to the data collected for the construction of this section, one can see that the coastline of Brazil is quite extensive and has public and private port terminals, ports, is a market characterised by regulatory barriers to entry, a large portion of the consumer market is located up to 200 km from the coast, making it easy to explore the use of cabotage transport in BR. Having as a conclusion that the cabotage transport is a possible alternative Brazilian logistics emerges as a viable option as they complete the entire logistics chain of transport in the country, being an extremely complex and expensive process, however, is an extremely important activity for financial success with the external market.
