It attempted to point out the arts as theoretical reference in three situations: the first one in the general context, the second one in early childhood education and the third one as a contributor to the development of the child, based on RCNEI, Iavelberg, Apud Santos and Fratari. This is a bibliographic research with exploratory type to better detail the information. The approach was made qualitatively. About the collection instrument it was used already published materials.
