Vale do Amanhecer: uma nova expressão religiosa em Santa Rita/PB
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this paper, we will study the Vale do Amanhecer religion, in Santa Rita city - PB. We will start problematizing the most appropriate nomenclature for the categorization of it in the context of religious classifications, because most theorists as Silas Guerriero (2006), that we use on this occasion, means that religion as belonging to the block of NRM (New Religious Movements). Thus, we will make a reflection on the New and Religious terms as well as the use of the word expressions to replace word movements. We will seek to understand the concept of hybridity and hybridization procedures under Néstor Garcia Canclini (2015), needed to our study, because it is noticeable the adoption of symbols, concepts and doctrines of various religious headquarters in the formation of Sunrise Valley. The Valley is a religion born in Brazil in the 60s, and in the second stage of labor resorted to Ana Lucia Galinkin (2008) and other authors to reassemble its historic route, highlighting its organization, emergence, founding, development and its importance. Finally we will explain the history of Sunrise Valley in Santa Rita - PB and the collection of information resulting from our interviews with the local president and some members of this religion in the studied city, highlighting issues such as belonging, change of life, feeling religious, religious intolerance and relevance to the Community.
