Competências e amplitudes da atuação profissional do gestor público de carreira no poder executivo

This paper intends to contribute to the professionalization of the public manager career, showing the historical context, the concepts and definitions to regulate the career framework. This monographic study is characterized as a bibliographic research, qualitative, whose research was descriptive and exploratory on the main elements relating to the careers of public management, highlighting the differentiation with the mandate and trust. The public manager career has been implemented in the Brazilian states, but not all regulated the specialist career in Public Policy and Government Management. Therefore, we carried out a comparative analysis from some defined variables such as: skills, acting in the executive branch and the relationship with the Government schools and a descriptive analysis of the historical relevance of the public manager career, considering the skills and range of positions. Currently, the Brazilian society needs, increasingly effective public policies and that, in fact, provide the quality of public management and optimize the spending of government spheres in the bureaucratic machine.
