In this context, organized crime appears as one of the main threats to peace and social cohesion, driven by the high profitability of drug trafficking and a set of structural conditions such as social exclusion, marginalization, inequality, unemployment, lack of access to quality education and impoverishment. As an important country in the route of international trafficking in illicit drugs, Brazil suffers doubly from organized crime associated with drug trafficking and the context of social injustice present in Latin America.
