Papeis ocupacionais desempenhados e identificação das tecnologias assistivas utilizadas pelos para-atletas do esporte adaptado da UFPB

The adapted sports and assistive technologies contribute to occupational performance of people with disabilities, creating new possibilities to push boundaries and develop new skills and capabilities in daily life. The aim of this study was to assess the demand for assistive technologies in adapted sports and everyday life activities of athletes adapted sports Universidad Federal the Paraiba; and the degree of ability to perform activities of daily living and identify their occupational roles. For data collection, the researcher applied a questionnaire featuring the profile of athletes and accessibility conditions in sports and in everyday life; Instruments and Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and the Desktop ID List for Occupational with 10 athletes study participants. As a result, it was found that the subjects have such equipment for sports and everyday life, however, adaptations and new equipment requirements are necessary. To perform activities of daily living, investigated have mostly an inability to perform activities investigated by Health Assessment Questionnaire. And in the identification of occupational roles, at present, are more played the roles of athlete, friend and hobby/amateur, highlighting the claim in resume in the future roles of volunteer, student, worker, family member, athlete and participant in organizations, assigned as "very important" in the occupational roles ID list. Finally, it can be concluded that the practice of sport can provide feedback and gain new occupational roles, overcoming disabilities and the development of skills and potential of people with disabilities.
