A influência da atividade física adaptada na imagem corporal da pessoa amputada: um estudo de caso
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe adapted physical activity has been worked as an important form of physical rehabilitation and social inclusion of people with disabilities along the history. Introducing valuable contributions in the reconstruction of body image of persons with amputation, collaborating with the aggregation of positive values in the conceptualization and evaluation of this mutilated body, through of doing movements and activities maybe never experienced. The main objective of this study was to identify how the adapted physical activity realized by Acesso Cidadão in the beach contribute with development of body image and social inclusion that person with amputation. This is a qualitative study based on the method of the Case study, realized with one person with acquired amputation that participate of social project called Acesso Cidadão. The collected of data through semi-structured interviews, categorized in five categories: perceptions of adapted sports; perceptions of body image; perceptions of occupational performance; spirituality and religiosity and social relation; and treaties of them is in agreement with the Content Analysis. The findings points to the existence of positive association between adapted physical activity with body image and social inclusion.
