It was prepared to a standard questionnaire that was applied to 40 fishermen with 20 in each city mentioned, in order to identify the profitability of fisheries production in the region, the questionnaires was performed randomly, covering all social levels, gender, age (20-70 years), degree of education, income and sales. Were made a total of 12 questions regarding the production of fish. This work was realized in partnership with the fishing community in the municipality of Picuí-PB, where it covers all the municipalities of Curimataú and Seridó and also in partnership with the association of fishermen located in the municipality of Barra de Santa Rosa-PB. The species of fish caught and sold by the fishermen are tilapia, trahira, minnows, curimatã and shrimp. Tilapia and trahira are the most commonly caught species, being cited by most respondents. Among the captured fish, tilapia has the highest price for marketing and curimatã is sold at the lowest price in both municipalities. The diversity of species catches does not exceed five. About this total, tilapia is the most catching and has the largest market value among fish species.
