Present a theoretical review of key concepts and standards adopted internationally in file organization. Establishing the need to conduct more than a simple organization of documents, but rather a document management that promotes the body to ease the recovery of documents and ensure the historical order materials and evidence for the company, and with that discuss the importance of strategic, tactical and operational planning in the file management. This research is characterized as a practical action research, a case study with a qualitative approach, data were collected through on-site observation and the application of semi-structured questionnaire, in Alpha Company, operating in the market of dealers Transport services Urban Public João Pessoa, about 23 years.
