A gestão documental sob a ótica dos seus gestores: estudo nos arquivos dos Centros de Ensino da Universidade Federal da Paraíba Campus I

Management is the way an institution organizes their actions to achieve their goals with effectiveness and quality. Therefore, the document management is defined as the activity to ensure that the information produced and stored is administrated and organized efficiently in the Archives. The present study aims to analyze the document management at Universidade Federal da Paraiba -UFPB teaching centers, Campus I, from the point of view of these managers. It presents a brief literature review on file, public and private archives, universitary archives, document, document management, and the importance of the archivist and his performance on document management. The work is characterized as a descriptive and exploratory research, with quantitative and qualitative approaches in order to analyze of the data. The research instrument used was the questionnaire. In relation to the gender, the results show that the Archives are equally managed with five male and five female managers, and in relation to their age, both are 35 years old, as well as postgraduated. At the Educational Centers we realized a lack of Archives in their teaching centers, and the lack of professionals in these sectors.
