The research examined the document management in the Archive of the City of Cabedelo - PB. Is characterized as descriptive and exploratory. We used quantitative and qualitative approaches to data analysis and as a tool for the research questionnaires. The sample consists of five employees who work in the Archive. Through the survey results the participants are female, aged over thirty-five years, with level of education high school. It is noteworthy that employees have prior knowledge about document management, but do not specialize in the area and consider an important management policy in the archive.
