Os profissionais de arquivo de instituição federal de ensino superior: uma análise do perfil dos arquivistas e técnicos de arquivo atuantes na UFPB Campus I João Pessoa

The present paper has as its study object the archival professionals of a Federal Institution of Higher Education. The intention is to analyze the profile of archivists and archival technicians who work at UFPB campus I in João Pessoa. This study aims to contribute in the identification of the profile of these archival professionals, as their formation, their attributions in the law that regulates the profession in Brazil, and work conditions. Then, it permits to know the professionals that work in the archives of UFPB. Among other benefits, in relation to the recognition and valorization of the professionals of the archival area, it can result the determination of the adequate use and human resource allocation by means of their competences and formation. In this scope, the present study aims to stimulate a reflection about the profile of archival professionals face on the problems of the archival doing, as well as register the work conditions in the environments they are working at. Thus, with the intention of stimulating discussions about the information professionals, the archivist and the archival technician among them, the study permits the identification of professionals with academic formation in correlated areas that are not the graduation in Archivology and deviation of function. This way, there is discussion on how the archival professionals are distributed and harnessed at UFPB campus I. It is a descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approaches to data analysis. The sample is composed by 15 interviewees. In addition, the data collection used questionnaire and non-structured interview. The data demonstrate that the work conditions and the negative points appoint to the need for improvements of the working processes. The improvement of processes can be well succeeded from the implementation of a documental management policy and the revitalization of working places, bringing an improvement to the career and more respect to these categories in the university, expanding the motivational spectrum of these professionals.
