Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe study aimed to develop an instructional sequence that includes the importance of the pedagogical use of calculators in the classroom. The authors who guide the study are: Ana Selva, Ema Mamede, Castellano Monteiro, John Van de Walle, Luiz Roberto Dante, Marcia Ballestra Girotto, Rute Borba and Ubiratan D'Ambrosio. Based on the analysis of didactic collection of Luiz Roberto Dante, tudo é matemática, an instructional sequence were prepared in order to enter activities that use the calculator in some mathematical content. Three activities have been prepared using this tool: the first explores the functionality and usage, the second presents one of the contents of the textbook, geometry, and the third, an activity created from a problem with real data, analyzed mathematically. It was found that the activities mentioned are presented as an pedagogical resource of great importance in mathematics learning and that the choice of a textbook that presents its contents covered with activities related to the calculator, can increase the reasoning, the ability to estimate and help in the investigation of mathematical properties. Therefore, given the arguments presented in this study, it concludes that the calculator is a pedagogical and teaching resource to be used in the classroom, that can take, with a lot of potencial, students to a better mathematics learning.
