Parque Sólon De Lucena: Intervenção Urbana e Vendedores Ambulantes no Centro de João Pessoa - PB

This present work deals with the conflict between the municipal government and itinerant workers Solon de Lucena Park, the lagoon that had to get out of that space, because of a new urban intervention project. Backed by local and state law, the city aimed to remove them, causing negative impacts on the lives of workers who, in some cases, spent more than half of their lives surviving through the use of that space. We found that there was not a fair deal for those who had to leave, leaving over 200 workers unemployed. We found that this type of situation occurs in other parts of the country and the world, becoming the subject of much discussion in the Geographic Science, to the extent that many workers remain outside the labor market, due to spatial transformations, without coming into actions planning and management by the public authorities for that population, causing them to informality.
