The methodology makes use of secondary literature sources (dissertations, theses and websites) and documentary research to show the potential of the city. This work is to examine the feasibility of using solar energy in the municipality of Cabedelo - PB, as sustainable alternative energy production, check the amount of solar radiation on the surface of all Cabedelo territory through data collected by the PCDs and investigate the amount of electricity consumed by the municipality in ten years, describing the behavior of consumption in the face of population growth and solar energy use of the possibility to meet demand. As part of the environmental studies, we highlight the use of renewable energy, and the emphasis of this work highlights the solar energy as sustainable use feature that is notoriously renewable, justifying due to the increase of population and lack of planning that led inadequate and inefficient use to meet energy demand. Therefore it is necessary that the municipality grow sustainably and for this the importance of the use of solar energy will be checked. Another important point is the issue of planning, which in order to obtain sustainable urban development is of the utmost necessity that there is a consistent planning, being of utmost importance to the energy needs of future generations, from the perspective of sustainability, being a directed study scale comprising the municipality of Cabedelo - PB.","abstract_html":"In the complex atmospheric dynamics there are several modulators, among these modulators, solar radiation, stands out as the principal.
