Creche de qualidade é direito da criança: construção de indicadores de qualidade para a educação infantil

This article objected to investigate the quality of children education offered by João Pessoa city, Paraíba, being a part of a big project named “Children Education, Human Rights and Public Politics: institutionalization process analyses of João Pessoa Daycares” provided by CNPq/PIBIC. The research, with quantitative and qualitative character, was done in 68 Children Education Reference Centers (CERC) of João Pessoa city. The CERC investigated directors answered a questionnaire about the Children Education context and its developed conditions, at their own institutions, starting by the features: the building fixtures, the pedagogical purpose existence and its elaboration, the teachers degree and the actuation time in the children education teaching, the children assistance, the technician degree and the actuation time in the children education and the didactic and material resources used in the institutions. The collected data were analyzed by simple and contend statistics. The outcome showed that 25 CERCs do not have a pedagogical purpose, the didactic resources were not available at every field daycares and the spaces were not affordable to the children play. In addition, in the employee testimonies, making reference to the children alimentation and hygiene is common, it means the presence of assistance politics in the educative practices. Progress in the teachers degree was also found, because every teacher has the floor degree demanded to act in the children education and in the follow up of the CERCs coordinator team and the education secretary. In addition, the team follows the institutions functioning, doing records and visits, being responsible by the offering of continuing degrees, with the objective of recognizing the educative job specificity with little children.
