The research was developed in three Private Institutions of Higher Education (PIHE) in João Pessoa (PB). Methodologically, it is a research with qualitative and quantitative approach, which used as research tool a semi-structured questionnaire. This questionnaire was applied with the employees who were responsible by the Academic Archives. In relation to results, it is concluded that the institutions do not have archivists that work in the management of their Academic Collection. Those responsible by the sector are worried about the organization of the document mass.
