Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present article emphasizes, through Archival Science, the importance of photograph as a document, registering and representing the memory and the history built by men along the time. Considering the keen eye of the archivologist that perceives the value of information which are inserted in the most varied kinds of support, we bring to photograph, while it contributes with society because it carries extremely relevant information, bringing register of facts that marked society, as well as the individual as part of a collectivity. Thus, it was developed an empirical, quantitative and qualitative research that used a mixed questionnaire. This one aimed to visualize the comprehension of the interviewees about photograph and its importance for them. The questionnaire was applied with Archival Course students, from the sixth to ninth semester, who were chosen randomly. As results, they were verified that most of the interviewees are above 25 years, feminine, and studying the first graduation course. All of them consider the photograph as a memory document. They like taking photos in rides, travels and parties and the most used method to visualize and to share photographs are through cell phones and social networks. It is concluded that, by means of the obtained answers, it is evident that photograph is a document that also provides and provokes in memory remembrances that will stay registered in the subconscious.
