Estudo sobre gerenciamento de riscos no acervo do arquivo da Fundação Casa de José Américo

Objective metas risk management is conducted in the file collection of the foundation Casa de José Américo. The research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive, bibliographical, being used the qualitative approach. For collection of data structured interview was applied to the Director of the Department of documentation and Archive of the Foundation. The results show that there is effectively a risk management plan, however the collection makes use of activities related to this procedure. The actions employed to file their environmental hygiene and protection consist of documentary, pest control, review of central air conditioning, prevention of leaks, prohibition of the consumption of food in the file. Regarding the most frequent deterioration agents in the environment, we highlight the appearance of insects and fungi, excessive heat and humidity and improper handling of documents. The risk management in the files has the purpose to intervene preventively actions that can cause damage to archival heritage. Therefore, one realizes the need to draw up a plan of actions aimed at the preventive protection of the file.
