GED - Gerenciamento eletrônico de documentos: a preservação da informação e diretrizes para implantação

Due to the evolution of a more and more digital society, it emerges new ways of document management. One of these ways is the Electronic Document Management- EDM, that needs a special attention turned to its preservation, as well as it is also necessary the existence of some recommendations to the implementation of this system. This way, the present work presents a revision of the main definitions of EDM, methodologies for the preservation of digital documents and guidelines to the implementation of the system. The objective of the research was to make a survey and analyze the importance of preservation of the information used in the application of EDM. It also aimed to offer guidelines to its implementation, with the finality of acting as a reference to future projects about EDM installation. These objectives were achieved by means of a bibliographic research. In a first moment, it is emphasized an approach about document, archive and document management. After, there were described and conceptualized the electronic document management, as well as its characteristics, technologies, advantages, disadvantages and the importance of its preservation. The research is concluded with a brief proposal of guidelines that can serve as reference for the implementation of future projects about EDM.
