Uma análise da história das equações do 2° grau nos livros didáticos.

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This study analyzes the focus of the history of equations of the second degree in high school textbooks adopted by teachers of the city of Itaporanga in Paraíba. The data source we used deeds of literature in mathematics education who present proposals on the importance of history in constructing mathematical knowledge and mathematics textbooks in 9th grade. It was also considered as a source of research material relating to any content made available during the course “ Licenciatura em Matemática a Distancia” as well as official documents like the National Curriculum Mathematics 5th to 8th grades. We can say that the proposed work with the story of this content is present in more recent works like the book "Everything is mathematics" written by Dante (2008), "Mathematics" written by Edwaldo Bianchini (1996) and "New Math Measure One "author's Centurion (2003). In earlier works as "The Conquest of Mathematics" and Castrucco Giovanni (1995) and "mathematical practice" of Andrin (1998) the story does not appear, indicating that the proposal to contextualize historically is a proposal that has been addressed only recently. This approach was also important considering the current state of mathematics education that is econtextualized by making a dynamic work necessary and appropriate to the teaching of content in elementary school.
