Situações de risco e vulnerabilidade social: desafios, perspectivas e implicações para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA), em periferias urbanas

Social vulnerability is termed as a condition of individuals or groups in situations of extreme social exclusion, making them at risk. She joins the result of any process of exclusion and discrimination, caused by factors such as poverty, poor educational level and geographic location. The vulnerability involves education for Youth and Adults (EJA) several issues that we could see very well during this study. This research was done addressing social vulnerability classes EJA located in urban peripheries, because of an experience we live when youth and adult educator in a school located on the outskirts of Mandacaru (Wet Edge) neighborhood. Besides the report of the experience, was also included in this work the theoretical concepts of various authors on the subject, so that we could better understand the definitions of social vulnerability, social suffering, youth and adult education and the characteristics of the Mandacaru, local neighborhood where the research was conducted. Our research objective was to study the vision of the Youth and Adult Education for the community and also to the periphery own student EJA, from their situations of risk and social vulnerability. We conclude that the situations of risk and social vulnerability to imply classes EJA major challenges, students from schools located in urban peripheries have to live with violence every day and has no protection even within the school itself.
