This study is justified on the grounds that it is in the school archives that are archived recording the memories of students and schools. Noting the need to verify the reality of school records in the city of Sapé, sought to diagnose the school records through interviews with professionals who work in these informational units, and check how they are organized. It is characterized as exploratory and descriptive research, with qualitative and quantitative approaches to data analysis. It was used the interview as data collection instrument and analyzed the following items: identification; organizational and functional structure; archive organizational structure of the institution; identification of document collections; notation system: documentary ordination; documentary description of activities; access to and use of the documents; documentary collection.
