Uso de prebiótico para tilápia-do-nilo durante o período de inversão sexual
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis study aimed to evaluate the effects of prebiotic mananoligossacarids (MOS), during sex reversal in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Sixteen glass aquaria were used with a capacity of 50 liters with water circulation, temperature controlled water and continuous aeration system, 240 animals were used: 15 tilapia larvae per experimental unit, divided into four treatments and four replications, totaling 16 experimental units using a completely randomized design. The feed used was a commercial powdered feed with 45% crude protein (CP), with the addition of 60 mg / kg of 17-α-methyltestosterone, and four increasing levels of prebiotic (MOS) 0; 0.04; 0.08; and 0.12%. We evaluated the performance variables, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion. Collection of segments of the small intestine was performed to procedure of histological analysis, evaluating villus height. No differences (P> 0.05) were observed for body weight, weight gain and final length, during the process of masculinization. The use of prebiotic MOS in the diet of Nile tilapia from hatching to 30 days of life led to a significant increase (α≤0,05) in intestinal villus height regardless of the level of inclusion. It can be concluded that the inclusion of MOS in the larval stage, promotes a greater increase villus.
