R(e) pensando as relações entre as juventudes, a escola e os processos de aprendizagem

This study investigated what major challenges are present in the relationship between youths and the contemporary school as well as how these challenges might affect the youths’s learning processes . To this purpose, it was discussed the concepts about youth as social subject. On top of that, it was analyzed the students’s perceptions about the youth condition and its relatioship with the school; lastly, it was sought to understand how these same perceptions could influence their learning processes. For this study, it was employed the qualitative research method by means of semi-structured interviews with 9 low-class “youth students” from a public school. Throughout this study, several theoreticians contributed towards a better understanding regarding the relationship between youths and school and its outcome to the learning processes. Carrano (2007), Dayrell (2013), Oliveira (2004) e Gohn (2011) ar e only but a few of them. It is clear from the students’s speeches that there are a myriad of issues limiting the youths’s active social participation as well as that the lack of attention to their needs may result in a preconceived and stigmatized view towards them, which may as well weaken their bonds with the school institutions and their learning processes.
