Through the case study Distillery Japungu Agroindustrial S/A, it is possible to observe the main advantages in investment for more powerful equipment with lower specific consumption, for cogeneration, capable not only of meeting the energy needs of the facility itself, but also aiming its sale. The back pressure generator that has its consumption of 12 Kg/KW while working at a pressure of 30Kg/cm² and 370ºC temperature, produces a generation of 10.931KW of energy. The new generator has a consumption of 7,5Kg/KW and works at a pressure of 42Kg/cm² and 405ºC temperature, starting to generate 14.822KW of energy, so there is an increase of approximately 35% in energy generation. A product that in addition to generating profits for the company is also environmentally friendly. The theme can be treated as one of the main alternatives, if not the best, for the energy generated in hydroelectric plants. With the water crisis and subsequent crisis in the Brazilian energy, several studies are beginning to surge searching for a way to produce sustainable energy. It turns out that this generation from the sugarcane industry is an available alternative, which needs investment. This study shows that when considering a fixed amount of R$90,00 for bagasse, the breakeven point occurs when power reaches R$192,00 which is considered a price below the current market. And in a less favorable scenario for the energy sale, you can still sell the bagasse, whose market is booming, and the industry is able to switch it´s focus based on market changes.","abstract_html":"This study aims to evaluate the energy cogeneration from sugarcane sector as the main alternative to Brazilian energy matrix.
