Avaliação da prescrição médica na pediatria de um hospital oncológico do estado da Paraíba : elaboração de um guia farmacoterapêutico para promoção do uso racional de antineoplásicos

Cancer is the term f or a group of diseases that have in common the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells occurring anywhere in the body. The most common childhood cancers are leukemias, central nervous system tumors and lymphomas. The treatment is through chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. To evaluate the medical prescriptions in pediatric an oncology hospital in the state of Paraiba, determining the class of antineoplastic, analyzing compliance with current regulations of chemotherapy was used 236 prescriptions for c hildren 0 - 12 years that were filed in Napoleon Hospital Laureano, for the period from January to May 2015. Most users, 55% correspond to the female gender, higher prevalence occurring in four years. Clinically the diagnosis of acute lymphocytic leukemia wa s higher, presenting requirements at 147, followed lymphomas (18) and neuroblastomas (18) and brain tumor (17). Most patients were internal (67%) and the remainder in outpatient treatment. All prescribers had medical specialization prevailing for hematolog ist (48%), 96% of the time did not follow the DCB, 94% did not use abbreviations, 94% did not contain necessary information for the safe dispensing and drug administration. The most prescribed therapeutic classes were the antimetabolite agent (46%), follow ed by plant - derived (21%) and antitumor antibiotics (16%), especially for drugs, methotrexate (20% of prescriptions) and mercaptopurine with approximately 14%. In this way we realize the importance of the pharmacist returned to pediatric oncology to ensure a health insurance service and quality, exercising clinical activity, cooperating with other professionals in the design of therapeutic plan, ensuring the prevention of medication errors when evaluating the prescription, showing that work data relevant to the rational use of antineoplastic be practiced
