Coffea cruda : uma releitura da matéria médica homeopática

This study consists of a review of the medical field of Coffea cruda with t he main objective to correlate the characteristics of this plant to the p atient's profile. In this study, besides botanical characteristics, homeopathic c h aracte r istics there is also a review of the pharmacology and toxicology of the main active ingredie nt of coffee: Caffeine that acts by blocking the natural action of a chemical associated with sleep, adenosine. Recent studies reveal that a certain portion of people with insomnia symptoms has been using homeopathy (or other alternatives) to solve this pr oblem. It is popular knowledge that coffee when ingested in much quantity can produce a lot of insomnia in healthy individuals, So, Coffea cruda when processed by dilution methodology and succussion in homeopathic doses can treat insomnia in many patients with excellent results. Through this review, it was possible to verify the importance of the investigations epidemiological level, chemical, metabolic and homeopathic of coffee. It was concluded that objective to correlate plant ’s characteristics to person ality profile of patients , has been reached and the scientific method used by Hahnemann has been strengthened.
