A presença feminina na cobertura jornalística de eventos esportivos no brasil: desigualdades e resistências
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present article discusses the perception of women journalists regarding the inequalities and resistance they know or experience during the exercise of their professions, especially in the context of sporting events. The literature reviewed indicated that, during the trajectory of women in sports journalism, the relationships were marked by wage inequalities, difficulties in career advancement, and gender harassment in a hostile work environment. On the other hand, it also showed that there were many resistances from women. To verify the perspectives of the protagonists on this topic, a qualitative research was conducted in 2022, updated in 2023, with women journalists who work in sporting events. The interviews with these journalists were analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique (2015), employing the logical-deductive reasoning research method based on Kantian rationalism. The analyses revealed statements from female journalists that differed from what was found in the literature. In their accounts, issues related to inequalities, harassment, or career advancement difficulties did not appear. Considering that qualitative research refers only to opinions regarding the researched universe, this contradiction may not correspond to what occurs with the entirety of female journalists, and it is advisable to continue the research with a larger audience to confirm or contest the dichotomous result.
