INVESTIGAÇÃO SOBRE A APLICAÇÃO DA TEORIA DAS RESTRIÇÕES (TOC) EM UMA EMPRESA DE CONFECÇÃO

This study developed some modelling to apply the Theory of Constraints (TOC) in a clothing industry. The modelling was based on the five focus steps of TOC, and supported by a data collection. The timing of the process times made it possible to identify the bottleneck of the system, enabling to know the company s ability (capacity) to meet anticipated demand. The data collected supported the production management in the decision to raise (elevate) the bottleneck. It was also developed a simulation of the impact on the increase (growth) of the bottlenecks against the required investiment to achieve it. The study was useful to the company, allowing a preliminary assessment of the impact of the bottlenecks increase measures.
