O lugar do espaço em ser e tempo

The present dissertation aims to outline the role of space in Martin Heidegger’s Being and Time. Taking as point of departure a discussion of the worldhood of the world, space is presented in terms of referentiality and involvement. It is characterized as constitutive of the structure of Dasein, insofar as Dasein spatializes itself in its encounters with entities withinthe-world. Next the existentials that are constitutive of Dasein – understanding, state of mind and discourse – are interpreted from the perspective of the originary spatiality of Being-in. The investigation then moves to relate the notion of space to that of disclosedness. Though not explicitly formulated by Heidegger this relation is suggested in the development of the argument of Being and Time. The dissertation seeks to establish a link between the various moments of the existential analytic in which space can be recognized in its originary character, a point which is only explicitly stated by Heidegger in his late work.
