Construindo caminhos para vidas futuras de comunidades pretas através do teatro em pojuca-ba

This work addressed the experiences during the Theater Degree at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), specifically in the supervised internships. The first internship involved only observation, while the second and third were immersive, carried out in formal and non-formal environments, respectively, in the city of Pojuca-BA. The theater workshops aimed to foster artistic creation in the city and provide opportunities for the youth of Pojuca, expanding their artistic potential and experimenting with theater as a tool to improve their expression at school, in the family, and within the community. This narrative analyzed the importance of theater as a tool for expression and integration in the community, employing a methodology that highlights the role of black people in society. Workshops focused on memory and identity led to the final productions “Pretas de Angola” and “14 de Maio,” the latter being showcased at the final artistic exhibition of the internships, intertwining memories. I also reflected on my experience in the black performance workshop with the Bando de Teatro Olodum. This study also addressed the challenges and benefits of theater practice in black community contexts and sought to help participating students enrich their culture and strengthen community bonds through experiences with theater and audiovisual media, promoting inclusion and transformation in rural communities.
